The Chemotion Files – Case 002

Last week, I was invited to the Stammtisch of the NFDI4Chem to discuss gamification in teaching electronic lab notebooks. It was a great opportunity to present The Chemotion Files. In case you are not familiar with The Chemotion Files, you can read my first blog entry about it here. It was really great to present and demonstrate the idea for the first time to a live audience, and I am thankful for the discussion. I uploaded the slides of the talk to Zenodo in case you want to check them out.

Today I bring the good news, that I just published the second case of The Chemotion Files, you can also find them on Zenodo! The first case was all about the search function, in the second case we will take a closer look at working with data in the ELN, more specific with NMR data. It is also the first time, that I used actually published data. I recommend to first try to solve the riddle, before checking out the data in more detail. You can find all the information on the Zenodo page. From the discussions at the Stammtisch last week, it was getting clear, that it can be helpful to add the possibility to get some hints, in case someone is stuck. With the second case, I now included these hints.

You can find both cases and useful links at the The Chemotion Files Genially board: https://view.genially.com/6661656a1512b9001571f527.

As I also mentioned in my talk last week. The Chemotion Files are intended to show you, how gamification in teaching ELNs could be done, but you should definitely take the idea and make it your own! If you tried this case or the first one, let me know how it went 🙂
