Before we start with today’s news digest. My Spotify Wrapped tells me, that I spent 35.075 min listing to music and podcasts (can you beat me?^^), so the year 2024 seems to come to a close. I am thinking about a “News Digest Wrapped”, to take a look back at the last year. What would you like to see in such a “wrapped” overview? Let me know in the comments, and now we start with this week’s News Digest.
FAIRmat
FAIRmat is the FAIR Data Infrastructure for Condensed-Matter Physics and the Chemical Physics of Solids, a consortium of the NFDI, the National Research Data Infrastructure in Germany.
Zenodo Update
New versions of pynxtools, the scanning tunneling microscopy data reader for pynxtools and NOMAD CAMELS were published. For the pynxtools there are only small changes, but NOMAD CAMELS v1.5.1 offers some new features, changes and fixes, you can check out the changelog here: https://github.com/FAU-LAP/NOMAD-CAMELS/releases/tag/v1.5.1

Zenodo Update
The four NFDI consortia NFDI4Biodiversity, NFDI4BIOIMAGE, NFDI4Earth and NFDI4MICROBIOTA published slides on the topic of how to handle research data in the field of zoology. It is a great resource to get to learn more about the different services these four NFDI consortia offer. So, even if you are not working in the field of zoology, you should still give it a go. It goes over the most important steps of working with research data in just a few slides. The title of the slides is in German, but the slides are in English.
