Welcome to the latest News Digest! Each week, I explore the latest developments in research data management, focusing specifically on natural sciences, and provide a concise overview. Let’s dive right in!

FAIRmat uploaded two presentations from the Love Data Week (which was last week). One is a presentation of NOMAD and the other one deals with the complicated matter of data ownership and legal aspects in research data management. If you are interested in the topic of leagal aspects, I also highly recommend to check out the "Guide to legal aspects in RDM" by FAIRmat, you can find it here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11083303
Lastly, a new version of the NOMAD Measurement Plugin was published.

Videos on Python, Education and Training
As was already mentioned in the past two weeks, more and more videos are uploaded to the YouTube-Channel of NFDI4Earth. They all seem to belong to the different courses that are, or will be offered, at the Education Portal of NFDI4Earth. The latest uploads are about Python and how to use it for data analysis. Check out the NFDI4Earth Educational Portal here: https://edutrain.nfdi4earth.de/
Workshops with NFDI4Chem
On Thursday and Friday, I in Leipzig to support NFDI4Chem with their workshop "FAIR Research Data Management: Basics for Chemists". I very much enjoyed the two-day event and loved the opportunity to get in contact with PhD students and discuss FAIR research data management. It was particularly interesting to see, how electronic lab notebooks are already in use in some working groups at University Leipzig. I am already looking forward to joining NFDI4Chem on Friday for another (this time one-day workshop) on the topic of research data management in Chemistry.
That is it for today. Thank you for reading and see you next week.
