Zenodo Upload: Triplestore software evaluation results
Within the NFDI4Cat infrastructures, a Resource Description Framework (RDF) based metadata handling is desired, therefore a triplestore solution was needed. Before deciding on one software, the different options were evaluated. On Zenodo you can now find the report and in Repo4Cat the underlining data.

10 Ways to Lose Your Research Data
There are many ways on how to lose research data. Theo Bender from NFDI4Chem collected 10 of them, and you can find them in ChemistryViews together with some nice illustrations. I can definitely relate to number 2 and number 8 if “somebody in your team” includes myself. 🙂 So take a look. Do you know other ways of losing data?

Seamless Access to Open Cheminfomatics with New Web Interface
In the past, the Cheminformatics Microservices of NFDI4Chem were mentioned in this News Digest. Now there is an exiting update: to make the services more accessible, a new web application was lunched. The Cheminformatics Microservices include tools like interactive chemical visualization, format conversion, image-to-structure, similarity metrics, natural product analysis and much more. Check out the article by NFDI4Chem for more information.
New Zenodo Uploads
The results of a survey during a coffee lecture in February 2025 were published. The questions of the survey were dealing with different topics of research data management, like which repositories are used to publish or find data, which topics in RDM are the most challenging and much more.
Furthermore, the slides from a presentation at the E-Science-Tage 2025 regarding the reuse of governmental data was published. Both are worth checking out.

Video demonstration: iRDOS integration
A short new demonstration video (3 min) on RSpace and how iRODS allows to persistently link to research data in institutional file stores. Definetly worth checking out to learn more aboutn how RSpace handles research data.
The FAIR Elephant
During the last few weeks, I took the time to rework my webpage a little bit with the goal to provide better inside what The FAIR Elephant is all about and which services I offer. You are welcome to check out the new look and I am happy about any feedback.
