Not too much to say today, so let us start directly:
PUNCH4NFDI – Gender balance in physics
PUNCH4NFDI is commenting on the DFG report on equal opportunities (Chancengleichehits-Monitoring 2024), recognizing that gender equality is not reached in physic and natural science in general. Read more about it in their article and learn about the measures PUNCH4NFDI is taking, to tackle these problems.
PSDI – The personal aspect of note keeping
Dr. Samantha Pearman-Kanza has another article in the latest Lab Horizons issue, discussing the evolution of note keeping in the lab and if we’re maybe missing out on personal aspects of science with the standardization with modern electronic lab notebooks. It is definitely an interesting read, check it out here and pages 10-13.

NFDI4Chem
A data set for cyclic voltammetry was published by NFDI4Chem with the goal to starting a discussion around the topic on how to report this kind of data. Connected to the data publication is a pre-print with the title: Enhancing FAIRdata by providing digital workflows from data generation to the publication of data: an open source approach described for cyclic voltammetry which you can read here.

Outro
That is already it for today. Yesterday I gave a talk about device integration in electronic lab notebooks at University of Münster, and it was really fun to show what is possible and where are the limitations, at least at the moment. For me, it was a great event and thank you very much to the organizers. I am very much looking forward to more talks and workshops about FAIR RDM in the future. If you have questions or need a workshop on a specific topic of RDM in natural science, feel free to contact me. Thanks for reading, and see you next week!
