News Digest – RDM in Natural Science: Week 28

New week, new news digest: Let’s go!

NFDI4Chem – Hackathon: Theoretical Chemistry and Chemotion ELN

In a hackathon at TU Braunschweig, people from Theoretical Chemistry evaluated a potential use of the electronic lab notebook Chemotion ELN for their research field. NFDI4Chem published a short report about this hackathon and the results, you can read it here.

Zenodo Uploads:

DAPHNE4NFDI

Slides from a presentation at the latest NFDI Berlin-Brandenburg networking meeting were published, discussing terminologies in Photon and Neutron Science.

FAIRmat

If you are working with specialized custom experiments, with non-standard data, then I recommend to check out NOMAD CAMELS. FAIRmat just published slides from a presentation which can give you a first idea how NOMAD CAMELS can help you with generating FAIR data from those kinds of experiments. In case you would like to know more about the infrastructure FAIRmat is building, check out their poster: FAIR Data Infrastructure with Enhanced Functionality and Domain Specific Applications.

PSDI (& NFDI4Chem)

For those who are following the news digest already for some time, you know that I always like when PSDI is uploading new presentations, I just like their general look and feel, and I think there is a lot in there that can be reused. This is also the case for the latest two presentations. The first one is an overview of PSDI. This is especially interesting for people who are not familiar with the work of them. The second upload is a combined presentation of PSDI and NFDI4Chem dealing with research data management in chemistry. If you are working in chemistry, or are interested in the field, I highly recommend to check out this presentation. There is a lot, really a lot in there, and I am pretty sure I will reuse, recommend and cite this presentation in the future.

Outro

That is it for today. Not too much news, but some excellent Zenodo uploads. Already looking forward to the next news digest. As always, thanks for reading and see you next week!
