Stammtisch Recording Published: BAM Data Store
The recording of the NFDI4Chem Stammtisch from February was published on YouTube. The title of the talk was “From Pilot to Rollout: Introducing the BAM Data Store for Institutional RDM in Materials Science”. It shows how the BAM (Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung) in Germany establishes a new data management in their institutions with a central data storage, the BAM Data Store. The software the BAM uses is called openBIS, and you will learn more about it in the recording. Independent of the software used, it shows quite nicely how the implementation of a new research data management workflow can be done. I highly recommend watching at least from minute 16 (see video below). As is said in the talk: “it is a marathon, not a sprint”.
