News from NFDI – natural science – week 03
Hello everyone, it is Friday again, so let us take a look at the natural science consortia of the NFDI. Today we have news from NFDI4Cat, and NFDI4Chem together with NFDI4Ing:
NFDI4Cat – LARAsuite
NFDI4Cat introduced LARAsuite this week. LARA stands for Laboratory Automation Robotic Assistant and is the robotic screening platform by the Institute of Biochemistry at University Greifswald. With LARAsuite the developers offer researchers the tools to “automate as much as possible” in their research, and this is not limited to chemistry, as Mark Doerr explains in his short talk (see the news article by NFDI4Cat). In case you would like to know more about this very promising approach, you can hear Mark Doerr at the next Stammtisch of the NFDI4Chem on January 26, at 2.00 pm. Mark Doerr will talk about How open Semantic Web Technologies, open data formats and automation will help the Chemist to focus on science – a glimpse on LARA and SciDat you can register for the talk here.
NFDI4Chem and NFDI4Ing cooperating
NFDI4Chem and NFDI4Ing join forces in the field of data management plans. Science October 26, 2022 NFDI4Ing already offers an RDMO instance for their community. Now NFDI4Ing will support NFDI4Chem with its own client, to make this software also available to the chemical community. This instance will get a catalog specifically developed for the chemistry community by NFDI4Chem. It is great to see NFDI consortia join forces. Read more about the cooperation here.
In case you are not familiar with RDMO, it is the Research Data Management Organiser and it can be a useful tool, when writing a data management plan for your next project.
That is it for today, see you next week.
