Welcome back, it is Friday, so let’s take a look at the news from natural science consortia from the NFDI. Today with news from NFDI4Chem.
NFDI4Chem – Starting with FAIR Data
For researchers, it can be difficult to find the right place where to start, if they want to work towards FAIR research data. There are many different aspects to research data management and this can be quite overwhelming. NFDI4Chem published an infographic with a step-by-step overview of one way you could get started with FAIR RDM. They propose to first get familiar with the general idea of FAIR research data management by visiting a workshop on that topic. Many of the NFDI consortia and local RDM teams are offering different workshops on this topic, which are free of charge and can really be that great introduction into the topic. There is no reason to not participate in at least one of these events! If you are not sure where to look for these workshops and seminars, feel free to drop me a message or contact or local RDM team or the NFDI consortia of your field!
From February 12 to February 16 there is the international Love Data Week. This is also a good time to participate in different events and get yourself familiar with different aspects of research data management. A list of events that are going on in Germany can be found here. The list is long and can also be a little overwhelming, but no worries, starting Monday, I will provide some overviews and tips for talks/seminars/workshops which are relevant to the field of natural science. So stay tuned for more.
In case you missed it, on Monday I published the first case of The Chemotion Filies. A mystery-escape-room-like game for the electronic lab notebook Chemotion ELN you can check the blog entry here.
That is it for today. Be sure to check out the infographic by NFDI4Chem, it is a general overview and not limited to the field of chemistry.
